This is a pattern for a sweater for a three year old train lover.

On the front a black steam engine rolls down the tracks. On the back are the engine's coal car and red caboose. Each sleeve has three more colorful engines, in various colors, against a blue sky. The trim pattern on the sleeves and body is black silhouetted houses against a shaded blue sky. There is also a more difficult variation for a trim pattern of white houses and green trees. The neck, wrists, and hem sew-down trim is alternating stripes of black and variegated blue. This pattern uses many different colors of DK yarn.
Obviously other colors can be used.

Pattern has written directions, materials lists, and full color charts to enlarge. The pattern assumes a good knowledge of knitting, or at least an adventurous spirit and a knitting guidelines book. Obviously other color combinations are possible. Have fun!
