This is a pattern for a handknit sweater for an Iceland loving adult. There are graphs for three sizes: small, medium, and large. The front, back, and each sleeve are arranged around a black frame with an iconic Icelandic scene inside. Outside the frames are green and purple northern lights and mountains against the night sky. On the back is the erupting Eyjafjallajokull, with grey clouds of ash streaming across the sky. On the front is the lighted Hallgrimskirja, the beautiful church in Reykjavik reaching up to the colorful Aurora sky. The left sleeve is Skogafoss in the spring, with three houses for the little people on the hillside. The right sleeve is Kirkjufell in the fall, the sky ablaze with sunset and the waterfall to the left. The wrists and hem trim is white churches on shades of blue. The neck, wrists, and hem trim is red and blue shaded striped rows.

Pattern has written directions, materials lists, and full color charts to enlarge. The pattern assumes a good knowledge of knitting, or at least an adventurous spirit and a knitting guidelines book. Obviously other color combinations are possible.

Materials needed
Two sizes straight needles
16" circular needle in smaller size
Various dk weight yarns

The frames allow for swapping out the picture you want to put on which sleeve or front or back. If you do knit this, please be patient with the flowers at the base of Skogafoss. This was very slow knitting for me!
