Knitting Pattern: Fairies Seven Years

Knitting Pattern: Fairies Seven Years
This is a PDF instant file.
This is a knitting pattern for a fairy loving child. On the front a girl in a purple dress kneels in a flowery meadow at the edge of a woods, her hand reaching for a fairy floating above the flowers. On the back the same girl, now in a peach dress and in another part of the meadow, reaches for a different fairy. On the sleeves are the flowers and meadow and woods and room for additional fairies.
The hem and wrists have a trim pattern of fairies in turquoise, pink, and purple against a periwinkle background. The wrists and neck are edged with a picot trim in dark blue. The hem has a simple lace pattern in dark blue.
My intention is for the knitter to choose whatever skin colors for the girls and the fairies that they wish. I based my colors on my daughter Jirina when she was seven as well as on the colors of fairies I bought from Wildflower Toys on Etsy. The fairies are held onto the sweater with a simple loop of elastic around the waist of the fairy that is sewn through the sweater. The reason for this is to remove the fairies for washing and for play.
Pattern has written directions, materials lists, and full color charts to enlarge. The pattern assumes a good knowledge of knitting, or at least an adventurous spirit and a knitting guidelines book. Obviously other color combinations are possible.
Have fun!
